Description

10 February 2006 outside Agra, India. Making fuel patties from dung.

The primary fuel in rural India, and slums of cities. The burn with a lot of smoke, highly polluting - but they have no other option - affordable or otherwise.

Three women are busy making the fuel cakes from a mix of dung and straws/crop residue in a rural region near Agra, India. These are used in their kitchens, as well sold to suburban/slum customers.
