Captain Perry replied,badly ; that he had lost almost all of his men, and that his ship was awreck; and asked what the gunboats were doing so far astern. CaptainElliott oflfered to go and bring them up ; and Captain Perry consenting,he sprang into the boat and went off on that duty. LOUD CHEERS ALL ALONG THE LINE.
