Description
Français : Chambre à décoration japonaise dite "chambre d'Aurore", au premier étage, dans la maison de George Sand à Nohant-Vic, dans l'Indre, en France. Elle est d'abord occupée par George Sand. Par la suite, George Sand quitte cette pièce pour s'installer dans la chambre bleue. Cette chambre devient la chambre des petites-filles de George Sand et de leur nourrice. Enfin, la chambre est occupée par Gabrielle entre 1892 et 1909, puis par sa soeur Aurore Lauth-Sand de 1910 à 1961. C'est Gabrielle qui fait décorer la chambre d'un papier peint à motifs japonais et d'un mobilier en bambou. Ce type de décoration japonaise est une mode en France à l'époque. Le papier peint, commercialisé vers 1889,sous le titre Décor japonais, par la manufacture Joseph Petitjean de Paris est un des rares décors imprimés à la machine au rouleau relief.
