Description : La maison McGinnis est l'une des rares maisons en pierre situées dans le secteur urbain de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. À l'instar de nombreuses résidences bourgeoises, elle est modifiée en 1876 pour s'adapter au style Second Empire, dont l'influence marque la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. Ainsi, un toit à la Mansart vient remplacer le toit à deux versants et une porte-fenêtre centrale surmontée d'un fronton cintré donnant sur un balcon est ajoutée. Elle est, de plus, dotée de deux spacieuses baies en saillie qui encadrent un porche central à plusieurs colonnes. Sa décoration intérieure s'agrémente d'un escalier principal en bois sculpté, de foyers en marbre et en fer ouvragé, de rosaces et de moulures aux motifs végétaux.
