Description
Français : Autres titres : Résidence Fulford; Maison Fulford; Eric Cottage. Description : Il s'agit de l'une des plus anciennes demeures de brique à avoir subsisté à Montréal. L'architecte a choisi, pour habiller la maison, le style victorien d'inspiration italienne, le plus en vogue à l'époque, qu'il a simplifié au maximum. Il est fort probable qu'on demanda à l'architecte de réaliser une grande maison avec un budget restreint. En effet, l'emploi de la brique au lieu de la pierre et l'austérité de la décoration extérieure sont généralement des signes de pauvreté au 19e siècle, surtout dans une ville comme la nôtre où la pierre et les sculpteurs sont en abondance.
