| Description |
English: Main road through village This is the main road that runs east-west through the small village of Lower Chicksgrove, though it is only a C road. Lower Chicksgrove lies on the north side of the valley of the River Nadder which flows between Tisbury in the west to Wilton, near Salisbury in the east.
There is a sixteenth century manor house on the main road, and a well known fourteenth century inn, The Compasses, in the hamlet of Chicksgrove to the south. To the west is Chicksgrove Quarry in Upper Chicksgrove, which supplies stone for Salisbury Cathedral restoration work. |
