Summary

[edit]
Description
English: On the left, built in 1906, this Queen Anne-style building, known as Walton Hall, was constructed to serve as the local International Order of Odd Fellows Hall, which was housed on the second floor, with the first floor housing space for businesses, most notably being the Jones Drugstore. The building is clad in red brick with a front gable roof featuring a stepped gable parapet, limestone panels on the gable end with the date “1906” emblazoned on the circular upper panel and the words “Walton Hall” on the lower rectangular panel, replacement windows, stone lintels and sills, brick quoins, and a heavily modified first floor clad in brick.

In the middle, built in the early 20th Century, this building features a painted brick exterior, a parapet with recessed panels, replacement windows in partially infilled second story window openings with stone sills and lintels, and a heavily modified first floor clad in red brick with a shed roof awning above.

On the right, built in 1928, this Classical Revival-style building housed the Dixie State Bank until 1936, when the Walton Equitable Bank became insolvent and was acquired by Dixie State Bank, which subsequently moved into the larger Walton Equitable Bank building. The building features a red brick exterior, replacement one-over-one vinyl windows, a large stone panel below the central bay of the second floor of the front facade with the words “Dixie State Bank” engraved into it, stone lintels and sills, a decorative cornice, a partially crenellated parapet around the low-slope roof, a front entrance door with a portico surround featuring engaged doric columns and a front peidment, and two large first floor storefront windows.
