[edit]DescriptionMain Battle Tank Challenger (23184758324).jpg | UK - Main Battle Tank Challenger prototype with a 120mm L11A5 gun and two 7.62 mgs; at the Bovington Tank Museum, Dorset, March 1998. Designed to replace the Chieftain. The Challenger proved highly successful in the First Gulf War, destroying about 300 Iraqi tanks and many APC's, proving very fuel efficient with a high level of serviceability. A Challenger destroyed one tank at a distance of over 3 miles! Scanned slide. |
