English: Located in Sundhara, Patan, Lalitpur district, the Shikhar-style Mahabuddha temple is very important in terms of architecture. Buddha images are carved on every brick of this temple. For the same reason, it is also called the temple of Sahasrabuddha. This temple is very important for Buddhists. The construction of the temple was started by Abhay Raj, a scholar from Patan, by imitating a famous temple of Bodh Gaya. Coincidentally, he died at the same time. The unfinished construction work is said to have been completed by Uchcha's son Jivraj in 705 BS. On the ground floor of this temple is a statue of Buddha. The temple has many carvings in which Buddha statues are engraved.
