Description
English: (1 in a multiple picuture set)

We saw these birds all over tha ranch. They were hard to photograph because they were wary and flew off whenever we got close. They were beautiful in flight. They had white stripes on their wings and bodies and these areas seemed to flash when they flew.

We were surprised, then, to learn from our Colorado friends that these are not well-liked birds. They are primarily meat eaters, scavengers like their well-known cousins, the crows. They are known to bother other animals and make a nuisence of themselves around the bird feeders people put out.
