English: Up express at Magor, with BR 'Britannia' Pacific. (See also ST4286 : North - West express at Magor). View west, towards Newport and South Wales, also the North via Abergavenny and Hereford. The locomotive here is Riddles 7P 4-6-2 No. 70016 'Ariel' (built 9/51, withdrawn 8/67). Several 'Britannia's worked on WR to South Wales and the West Country for nearly 10 years from 1952, latterly all working from Cardiff Canton Depot. |
