Schematic section of a magnatron vacuum tube.
- Blue arrow: trajectory of a single electron without magnetic field from the central glowing-wire
- Red arrow: trajectory of a single electron with the effect of the magnetic field
- Yellow dots: magnetic field lines (section view)
- Brown line: the antenna
- Green arrows: every cavity acts like an LC circuit. The small arrow represent the electric field, the circular one represents the magnetic field.
