| Description |
Sonoma Coast, California This image is inspired by several great photographers I have been following, [/photos/bowman66/ Bob Bowman], & [/photos//michael-p-ryan/ Michael Ryan], who made this spot well known in the bay area photographer community. I had been kept asking myself "is it worth?" when we started the 3-hour journey to this spot, since the tide and water-flow were not at ideal conditions. In addition, most of weather forecast stated it was overcast in Sonoma coast, while only one new app predicted burn at sunset, so I really took the chance to make this trip. The sky had been overcast/rain most of time until we hit the highway 1 and saw a small opening in the sky. We finally made to the spot just about 20 minutes prior to the sunset, and were lucky to capture the last light illuminated the cliff and water falls. The setting sun was blocked by the marine layer at the last minute, so the clouds were finally not burn as we expected. None of sunset app were 100% accurate, so I am pretty sure will come back when all conditions are right. |
