Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Maes-y-mynydd (6) The sea enters your vision almost every way you turn: the sight, and sound and smell of it must have been a constant presence. The villagers would have had to run the gauntlet of the weather to fish off the treacherous coastline. Seals frequent the waters too. The children's illustrator, Jackie Morris, who lives locally, has produced a beautiful book based on Maes-y-mynydd and its imagined connections with selkies: The Seal Children, see http://www.jackiemorris.co.uk/village.htm
