Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Madresfield Court Madresfield Court is a wonderful moated manor house dating back to the Elizabethan times, however, much of the house is now Victorian, here it is viewed from the south-east. The house has been the ancestral home of Lygon family, and later the Earls of Beauchamp between 1815 and 1979, when the eighth and last Earl died. Evelyn Waugh was a regular visitor to the court and it provided the inspiration for his book 'Brideshead Revisited'. During the Second War World the court was considered as home for the Royal Family if they were forced to evacuated London during the blitz.
