| Description |
The interior of the main island of Madeira is mountainous. This picture was taken from a viewpoint looking more than 1000 feet down onto the village of Curral Das Frieras which is entirely surrounded by mountains. Immediately to my left was another, vertical, view down to a village 2000 feet below. The way in and out the valley is by means of a road tunnel cut through a mountain. The views all around from the Eira do Serrado are truly spectacular. I'll upload a short video that I took at this place. |
