Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Madan Mahal Fort in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, stands as testimony to the lives of the rulers who ruled Jabalpur for a good number of years in the 11th century AD. Situated at a hilltop, a couple of kilometres away from the city, Madan Mahal Fort was built by the Raja Madan Singh. The fort is also associated with the king’s mother, Rani Durgavati, who happened to be a valiant Gond ruler of the place. This fort, which is at ruins at present, does speak about the aura of Rani Durgavati and her fully equipped administration and military. The main pleasure chamber of the royal family, war rooms, the small reservoir and the stable are worth to visit. The fort speaks volume of the lives of the people of the bygone era, and it helps one gauge the unmatched royalty of that time. Madan Mahal Fort is certainly amongst the intriguing ancient monuments in India and is highly recommended on a visit to Jabalpur.
