This media file has been nominated for deletion since 6 October 2024. To discuss it, please visit the nomination page.
Do not remove this tag until the deletion nomination is closed. Reason for the nomination: As shown in disputed template, this copyright status seems not true. This figure is from Robison and Reisenbichler (2008) [1] which does not have Creative Commons licence. Link shown in page[2] also does not show any available licence. As I see there are no freely usable version of this image. This is uploaded by a user only uploading this and nothing contributes, so it is highly possible that it is uploaded by a user does not understand about copyright. However, this is pretty famous image of barreleye as only photograph of living animal, it is used in many articles, so I'd put this for proper deletion request and not directly adding copyvio tag, to see if there is freely usable one. (If it is not usable and have to delete, there is available illustration in this paper, which I will upload soon.[3])

Summary
[edit]It is disputed whether the copyright tag on this file is correct. In some cases this may be because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Reason: Photo is attributed to Kim Reisenbichler, but was uploaded by User:Simo Deca 17. Image was taken from an article posted at researchgate, originally published in the journal Copeia in 2008. I see no indication that the image has been released to the public domain or under a free-use license.

DescriptionMacropinna Microstoma.png |
