Built by Alexander Stephen & Sons Glasgow, Yard No 646 Engines by Nat Gas&OilEng Co Ashton/Lyne Last Name: PEARL OF SOUTH CHINA SEA (2001) Previous Names: VANCOUVER ISLAND PRINCESS (1987), NAN HAI MING ZHU (1993) Port of Registry: Victoria BC (now Panama) Propulsion: Geared diesel. 4 x 1,575bhp 7-cylinder diesel engines geared to two shafts. Re-engined in 1973 with 4 x GM 2,150bhp diesels, boosting speed to 17 knots. Voith-Schneider bow thruster.
