English: Maj. Anthony Barbina (right), a native of Belmont, Ohio and Capt. Mark Gillman (center), a native of Las Vegas, both engineers assigned to 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, "Warrior," 25th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, escort Brig. Gen. Robin Swan (left), a Pittsburgh native, and deputy commanding general of MND-B, across the Grand Canal Bridge, in Taji, northwest of Baghdad, Aug. 6, 2008. The intent of Swan's visit was to assess the progress made developing and maintaining key infrastructure to support the electrical and transportation needs of Baghdad's outer lying rural communities. The Grand Canal Bridge was the site of two vehicle-born improvised explosive devices in 2007. The explosions resulted in the loss of a portion of the bridge. |
