El Ministro de Defensa Jakke Valakivi participó, junto al Presidente de la República Ollanta Humala, en la ceremonia por el 135 Aniversario de la Batalla de Arica y Renovación del Juramento de Fidelidad a la Bandera, realizada en la Plaza Bolognesi de Lima. En su proclama, el ministro Valakivi señaló que el Coronel Francisco Bolognesi Cervantes, héroe nacional y Patrono del Ejército del Perú, y sus compañeros “son testimonio de lo que Jorge Basadre llamó la promesa de la vida peruana”. El titular del sector evocó la resistencia de la plaza de Arica y la inmortal frase que el Coronel Bolognesi dio antes de partir al sacrificio: Tengo deberes sagrados que cumplir y los cumpliré hasta quemar el último cartucho. A continuación, el ministro mostró su agradecimiento a hombres y mujeres que sirven al Ejército en todo el país, especialmente a nuestros valerosos soldados desplegados en el Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro, VRAEM. Asimismo, recalcó el esfuerzo del gobierno destinado a la mejora y modernización de los Institutos Armados, en busca de la excelencia profesional de sus miembros. Tras la acción litúrgica oficiada por el Obispo Castrense, monseñor Juan Carlos Vera, se realizó el tradicional Juramento de Fidelidad a la Bandera. “Este juramento implica compromiso con la patria y es herencia de quienes actuaron con heroísmo en su defensa”, señaló el ministro Valakivi. A la ceremonia asistieron el Presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Pedro Cateriano; el Jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas, Almirante Jorge Moscoso, y los comandantes generales del Ejército, Marina y Fuerza Aérea. Asimismo, ministros de Estado, congresistas y autoridades. En la jornada, el ministro Valakivi presenció el Concierto de Gala alusivo a la fecha. En el Gran Teatro Nacional, la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil y el Coro Nacional interpretaron piezas del maestro José Bernardo Alzedo –primer músico en componer para la gesta libertadora del Perú-, entre ellas el Motete para la recepción del Presidente de la República, Canción a la Batalla de Ayacucho y el Himno Nacional del Perú. |
