Português: Ara de Caio Minúcio Jubato que, segundo André de Resende teria sido encontrada no sítio da Cola. Em 1605, na sequência da intervenção de Filipe II sobre a distirbuição das águas do aqueduto, esta ara foi reunida com outras lápides romanas sob as arcadas dos Paços do Concelho, na Praça do Giraldo. Data de execução: entre 1533 e 1573 d.C. [1]
Tradução: Gaio Minúcio Jubato, filho de Gaio, da tribo Lemónia, tribuno da décima legião Gémea, que o general Cláudio Unímano abandonou demaiado pelas feridas como se estivesse morto. Fui recolhido pelos cuidados do soldado lusitano Ebúcio e até levado a curar-me mas poucos dias sobrevivi. Morri desgostoso porque não testemunhei reconhecimento ao benfeitor segundo o costume romano (Barata, 1903). |
