Description
English: My first prototype brackets came in and they didn't work. For some reason I used a different dimension from the plywood protos for the height of the crossrail, and the assembly was impossible to get past the shark fin antenna. No matter, I installed the brackets anyway with a single crossrail to check the height.

As can be seen, the crossrail is about 11/32 inch from the roof of the car. This is about as low as I would want to go. There is no apparent flex in the system, but who knows what might happen if a lot of weight was placed on the rack? Would the crossrail bow?

I am abandoning the long brackets for now and focusing on shorter brackets, two for each crossrail, which makes rack configuration more flexible and might be cheaper.
