Description
Nederlands: Ontspannen koppen en veel grappen, maar in een oefening of operatie gaat de knop direct om. Het laat de professionaliteit zien van de veelzijdige Maritime Special Operations Forces (MARSOF)-operators. De mannen van de Afghan Territorial Force 888 mogen blij zijn met deze toptrainers. Andersom leren de Nederlandse special forces ook van de Afghanen.

De maritieme special forces maken deel uit van het Special Operations Advisory Team (SOAT) dat de Afghanen binnen NAVO-missie Resolute Support de kneepjes van het SF-vak bijbrengt. ATF 888, actief in het noorden van Afghanistan, is een van de triple units, de speciale politie-eenheden van de Afghaanse overheid.

Het Korps Commandotroepen (KCT) zette vorig jaar het trainingsprogramma op vanuit Camp Marmal bij Mazar-e-Sharif. De vierde rotatie is voor MARSOF. Het doel? Over 2 jaar moeten de Afghanen zelfstandig, met een helikopter of auto ergens heen verplaatsen. Maar ook hun eigen veiligheid waarborgen, een instap maken en iemand oppakken, die betrokken is bij terreur, drugshandel of zware criminaliteit.
