Description
Français : Dévoilée en 1972, la Mercedes W116 est le 1er modèle de la gamme à porter le nom “Classe S”. C'est un appréciable succès pour le constructeur de Stuttgart, puisque écoulé à plus de 475 000 exemplaires en 8 ans de carrière. La W126 prend le relais jusqu'en 1991.

La 6.9, navire amiral avec son moteur dont le cubage est presque digne d'un poids lourd, en fait le plus volumineux jamais monté sur un véhicule européen de tourisme, est pour sa part commercialisée à l'automne 75.
