Zwischen 1804 und 1806 wurde das frühklassizistischen Palais nach Plänen von Karl Fischer erbaut. Auftraggeber war der Abbas in Commendam (Kommendatar-Abt) Tholey Pierre de Salabert, Erzieher von Kurfürst Maximilian IV Joseph. König Ludwig I schenkte es 1825 seinem Bruder Prinz Carl. Seit 1968 ist das Prinz-Carl-Palais Dienstsitz des Bayerischen Ministerpräsidenten (nur zu Representative Zwecken) Between 1804 and 1806, the early neoclassical palace was built according to plans by Karl Fischer. The client was the Abbas in Commendam (commendatory Abbot) Tholey Pierre de Salabert, educators of Elector Maximilian IV Joseph. King Ludwig I donated it in 1825 to his brother Prince Carl. Since 1968, the Prinz-Carl-Palais is official residence of the Bavarian Prime Minister (only for representative purposes) |
