English: The 21th page of the Novel of the Next Century Magyar: A jövő század regénye kéziratának 21. oldala A jövő század regénye : Jókai Mór teremtette meg a modern magyar utópisztikus és tudományos-fantasztikus irodalmat. Művei az első világháborúig meghatározták a magyar fantasztikus irodalom arculatát és témáit. Az író fantáziája korokon és időn keresztül szárnyal Atlantisz pusztulásától (Óceánia), csodálatos utazásokat bemutató történetein (Egész az északi pólusig) keresztül, egészen az utópisztikus robinzonádig (Ahol a pénz nem isten). A jövő század regénye legjelentősebb utópisztikus SF műve 1872-1874 között jelent meg. A mű öt évtizeden átívelő cselekménye 2000-ig mutatja be Jókai álmát Magyarország és a világ jövőjéről. Jókai hitt a technikai hatékonyságnövekedés és a természettudományos felfedezések világmegváltó erejében. A regény fordulatos cselekményével, képzeletének gazdagságával, költői hangjával és szuggesztív jövőképével a fantasztikus, tudományos-fantasztikus és utópisztikus irodalom legnagyobb hatású tizenkilencedik századi íróival (Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, Camille Flammarion, Kurd Laßwitz, Edward Bulwer-Lytton, Vlagyimir Odojevszkij) állítják párhuzamba Jókait. A fantasztikus irodalomban betöltött szerepe mellett a regény egyedülálló irodalomtörténeti értékkel bír. Dosztojevszkij Ördögök című regényével párhuzamosan egy időben jelent meg, és a nagy orosz íróhoz hasonló hangsúllyal mutatja be az anarchizmust. A jövő század regényének Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeumban található kézirata a regény mindkét részéből tartalmaz fejezeteket. Az autográf tintaírással írt szöveget az író tinta- és ceruzaírásos kiegészítésekkel látta el. |
