Français : Photographie de la météorite tombée à Château-Renard, en France, le 12 juin 1841 vers 13h30. Matière : chondrite ordinaire (L6). Poids total : 30 kilos. Poids du fragment conservé au Muséum national d'histoire naturelle de Paris : 1,6 kilos.
Le météore de Château-Renard a traversé le ciel le 12 juin 1841 sous les yeux de nombreux témoins, qui entendent ensuite une explosion. Deux jours après, les fragments sont découverts et récupérés dans des trous d'environ 30 centimètres de diamètre. Un panneau consacré à cette météorite et illustré par cette photographie a été exposé à l'occasion de l'exposition "Météorites", dans le bâtiment de la grande galerie de l'Evolution, au Muséum national d'histoire naturelle de Paris (18 octobre 2017 - 10 juin 2018). |
