Description
Français : Météorite Gibeon, trouvée en 1836 en Namibie. Météorite de fer (IVA). Collection particulière Alain Carion, Paris. Cette météorite est un fragment d'un noyau d'astéroïde différencié. Pendant des siècles, des peuples d'Afrique australe ont utilisé le fer de cette météorite pour forger des flèches et des outils. Exposée à Paris à l'occasion de l'exposition "Météorites", dans le bâtiment de la grande galerie de l'Evolution, au Muséum national d'histoire naturelle de Paris (18 octobre 2017 - 10 juin 2018).
