Description
Français : Arsène Grapin est le grand-père de Mme Portier. Il est le 25 juillet 1876 à Chambourcy(Yvelines). Il appartenait à la classe 1896, matricule 2891. En 1914, il habite à Théméricourt (aujourd'hui dans le Val d'Oise). Nous suivons son parcours militaire au travers la correspndance qu'il échange avec sa femme et ses enfants. Il incorpore en 1914 le 5e Régiment d'Artillerie territoriale à pied, 1ere batterie. En novembre-décembre 1914, il se trouve à l'hopital auxliaire n°103 à Pierre de Bresse (Dijon). En 1915, il est à Verdun (Meuse). En février 1916 il est dans les Vosges puis jusqu'en juin 1916, on le retrouve au 46e d'Artillerie, 7e batterie en Ille et Villaine. Puis ensuite il se trouve jusqu'en 1917 à la caserne de Raffye à Tarbes.
