Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This antique Filipino sword is believed to have originated from Luzon, during the Katipunan (KKK) era at the time of the Philippine Revolution.

The photo of the entire sword can be seen here.

The blade is thick and laminated, as is characteristic of blades of this era. The hardwood hilt has a grooved underside for improved grip. The pommel has a slight bifurcation, reminiscent of the pommels of prehispanic Philippine swords. The ferrule has seven sides and is made of iron. The scabbard is tooled leather with ornate design patterns. The scabbard has shrunk and deteriorated with age.

Overall length: 652 mm (25.6 inches); Blade length: 522 mm (20.5 inches); Maximum blade thickness: 9 mm (3/8 inch); Scabbard length (remaining): 405 mm (15.9 inches)
