Description
English: Army nurse, Lieutenant Nancy Jane Leo of the 216th General Hospital is the only woman buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial. Sloping gently downhill from the memorial is the burial area containing 5,076 of our military dead, many of whom lost their lives in the Battle of the Bulge and in the advance to the Rhine River. 2LT Nancy Leo, an Army nurse from Maryland, is the only woman buried among the 5,076 soldiers in the Luxembourg American Cemetery. She died in a jeep accident in Paris on 24 July 1945. Her grave is H-9-71. Note: Picture from the web... changed tones, cleaned it up and softened slightly.
