Description
Français : Le Monument aux morts du cimetière israélite de Belle-Vue à Luxembourg est constitué d’un gros bloc en granit rouge de Bretagne érigé par les soins de la firme Jacquemart et entouré de trois côtés par des haies. Inauguré le 10 octobre 1954, il est dédié à la mémoire des victimes juives de la seconde guerre mondiale et rappelle au passant « les nombreuses déportations des Juifs luxembourgeois vers les camps d'extermination qui n'ont pas trouvé de sépulture » (Dr Emmanuel Bulz). Le texte, en hébreu, figurant sur la stèle, est extrait du Livre biblique des Lamentations. « Regardez et voyez s’il est une douleur pareille à ma douleur. »
Deutsch: Das Totendenkmal des jüdischen Friedhofs „Belle-Vue“ in Luxemburg besteht aus einem großen Felsblock aus rotem Granit aus der Bretagne. Es wurde von der Firma Jacquemart errichtet und ist von drei Seiten durch Hecken umgeben. Eingeweiht am 10. Oktober 1954 ist es den jüdischen Opfer des zweiten Weltkriegs gewidmet und erinnert den Passanten „an die zahlreichen Deportationen der luxemburgischen Juden in Richtung der Vernichtungslager, die kein Grab gefunden haben“ (Dr. Emmanuel Bulz). Der Text in Hebräisch auf dem Sockel stammt aus dem biblischen Buch der Klagelieder Jeremias. „Schauet doch und sehet, ob irgendein Schmerz sei wie mein Schmerz, der mich getroffen hat.“
