[edit]DescriptionLuttrellPsalterFol202vGeoffLutrellMounted.jpg |
English: Folio 202v of the en:Luttrell Psalter, with part of Psalm 108 in Latin (Psalm 109 according to the Masoretic numbering). The miniature in the lower half of the folio shows Sir Geoffrey Luttrell, mounted, assisted by his wife and daughter-in-law. All three are dressed in en:livery bearing his en:Coat of Arms, as is the horse. The women's clothing shows the Luttrell livery "impaled" with that of their own families (Sutton and Scrope). The Latin inscription immediately above the illustration reads Dns (= Dominus) Galfridus louterell me fieri fecit â Lord Geoffrey Luttrell had me made â indicating that he was the patron who commissioned the psalter. |
