Summary
[edit]DescriptionLupinus argenteus var. rubricaulis - silvery lupine.jpg |
English: Silvery lupine stands tall, around 5-6 dm, at the highest elevations where it flowers by late summer. All lower elevation population were well past flowering at this point in time (12 August 2021). These population key out to var. rubricaulis in the Intermountain Flora in part because of the flowering stems unbranched above ground level, inflorescences loosely flowered, calyx slightly gibbous, banner hairy only near the upper calyx lobe, and banner reflex in the distal half and only slightly with respect to the wing and keel petals. This site lies along the Ruby Crest trail just north of the junction with the Long Canyon trail. |
