Ophængt i Lundtofte Kirke, Danmarksvej 36, 2800 Kgs Lyngby Skænket af drejermester Parsfeldt Renoveret 1992 af maler Ove Andersen, Slagelse. Kirkeskibet bærer navnet Iphigenia. Iphigenia var en antik græsk sagnskikkelse, datter af Agamemnon. Historien fortæller at da den græske flåde i Aulis blev opholdt af modvind, blev det forkyndt Agamemnon at modvinden først ville lægge sig når han ofrede Ifigenia til Artemis, jagtens gudinde. Under ofringen bortførte Artemis Ifigenia og bragte hende til Taurernes land, hvor hun blev præstinde. Kirkeskibet har ikke noget original forlæg, men der kan være en historisk forbindelse til fregatten Iphigenia af Rønne, der gik under ud for Hull i England i 1880’erne |
