Deutsch: Vestibül-Gebäude (1888) am Luisenbad in Berlin-Mitte (Ortsteil Gesundbrunnen), Rest eines zum ehemaligen Kur- und Vergnügungsbetrieb gehörigen Ensembles an der Travemünder Straße, die entlang der Panke zwischen Badstraße und Osloer Straße verläuft; das Gebäude im Garnier-Stil steht hinter dem Wohnhaus Badstraße 39 und ist seit 1995 Teil der Bibliothek am Luisenbad (Neubau und Altbau-Integration nach Entwürfen von Rebecca Chestnutt und Robert Niess); der Puttensaal des Vestibül-Gebäudes (hinter den vier Rundbogenfenstern), der ehemalige Ballsaal, wird heute noch für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt; die eisenhaltige Quelle auf dem Areal des Hauses Badstraße 39 wurde 1748 zum ersten Mal erwähnt, 1751 vom Chemiker Andreas Sigismund Markgraf (1709 – 1782) als medizinisch wirksam erkannt, ab 1758 vom Apotheker Heinrich Wilhelm Behm (1708 – 1780) zum Heilbad ausgebaut und als Friedrichs-Gesundbrunnen bezeichnet (zu Ehren Friedrichs II., der das Privileg gewährt hatte); der Mediziner Christian Gottfried Flittner (1770 – 1828) kaufte 1807 die Badeanlage und bat 1809 die Königin Luise, das Bad nach ihr benennen zu dürfen; seitdem heißt es (und was von ihm übrig geblieben ist) Luisenbad; Nachbesitzer Flittners waren der Leiter des Taubstummeninstituts (Linienstraße) Ludwig Graßhoff (1770 - 1851), der Maler Carl Wilhelm Gropius (1793 - 1870) und ab 1879 die Brüder Carl und Emil Galuschki (die das Bad in Marienbad umtauften); sie ließen das Vestibül-Gebäude (die Abkürzung in der Kartusche am Giebel weist vermutlich auf Carl Galuschki hin) und Häuser an der Badstraße errichten; u.a. das Haus Badstraße 39, an dessen zur Travemünder Straße gelegenen Eckteil das Relief eines Brunnenhäuschens zu sehen ist, es trägt die Inschrift In Fonte Salus (in der Quelle liegt Gesundheit); die Quelle versiegte gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts (vermutlich infolge des Baubooms); auf das Luisenbad weisen außer dem Ortsteilnamen auch die Brunnen-, Bad- und Behmstraße hin. |
