Español: Capilla de San Francisco de Asís, Catedral de Málaga. Sepulcro de Luis de Torres (Málaga 1533- Roma 1584), arzobispo de Monreal (1573-1583). Sepulcro de mármol blanco, con posible intervención de Giovanni Antonio Dosio, y epitafio, Luis de Torres, arzobispo de Monreal, presbítero, presidente de la cámara apostólica y su decano, legado del sumo pontífice Pío V ante Felipe, el rey católico de las Españas, y Sebastián, el rey de Portugal, con asuntos muy graves encaminados a conseguir la unión de los príncipes en una sagrada liga contra los turcos. Bienhechor del pueblo cristiano, dotado de celo religioso, de entereza de vida, se sencillez de ánimo, de suaves costumbres, de experiencia en los asuntos de gran trascendencia y dotado de un sentido piadoso de la caridad. Vivió cincuenta y un años, un mes y quince días. Murió el año 1584, el 31 de diciembre, día del aniversario de su consagración. Luis, arzobispo de Monreal, y Alfonso, tesorero de esta santa iglesia, como herederos suyos pusieron esta memoria a su óptimo tío y hermano. |
