| Description |
English: Lud's Well Not easy to make out, but the darker vegetation of the ferns left of centre mark 'Lud's Well' which is quite a spectacular spring for these parts, forming a mini waterfall. Lud is said refer to 'Hlud' meaning fast-flowing river, however there are also those who speculate that it was a ritual site with connections to Lud the Celtic deity, or even the mythical King Lud. There is a well trodden path to the site through the trees but no right of way. |
