Full length view from slightly below of Japanese bomb-carrying balloon. Credit: unknown (Smithsonian Institution) A Japanese balloon bomb. High jet stream winds carried it to the USA during World War II. Each balloon was armed with a 15 kg bomb and two incendiary bombs.
