Description
English: Built in 1879, this Italianate-style building, also known as the Lowry and Morrison Block, was built by Thomas Lowry and Clinton Morrison as a business venture, and was later was home to several notable tenants including the Ace Lock & Safe Company, the North Star Boot and Shoe Company, and Davis Restaurant Equipment Company. The building features a buff brick facade with pilasters, a brick cornice with extensive corbeling, wide window openings with arches, brick keystones, limestone sills, a storefront with cast iron columns and a decorative cornice, and double-hung windows. The building is a contributing structure in the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
