Summary
[edit]DescriptionLower Wyke Moravian Church - geograph.org.uk - 908092.jpg |
English: Lower Wyke Moravian Church "Lower Wyke is one of four Moravian Settlements established in Yorkshire in the early eighteenth century.
The chapel was built at Lower Wyke in 1753 but it wasn't until 1755 that it was officially recognised as a Moravian congregation. In 1775 the building had become too small for the membership and following a fire which seriously damaged the front of the church, the present larger building was erected." http://www.nowthen.org/index.php?id=55 |
