Description Lowell's Boat Shop, 459 Main Street, Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA. Established in 1793, Lowell's Boat Shop is the oldest continuously operating boat shop in America. The oldest buildings remaining on the site are combined Greek revival structures that were built in the early 1860s, and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This image is part of the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), created by the Library of Congress, and hence is in the public domain. Survey number: HAER MA-153. Jet Lowe, photographer, 2003.
