Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Low Light, Happisburgh. In the distance, you can see chalets on Doggetts Lane protected behind a concrete sea wall.

Where this sea wall stops and the wooden revetments were removed in the early 80's a bay has opened up. To the right (inland) the ground drops away and is soon only a few metres above sea level.

This stretch of beach is known as 'low light' as it was the position of one of a pair of lighthouses at Happisburgh, forming leading lights marking safe passage around the Haisbro' Sands 8 miles offshore. The 'high light' still remains as the current Happisburgh Lighthouse TG3830
