Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Self-drawn mourning card for the victims of Duisburg Loveparade stampade on July 24th, 2010.

For each of the 21 persons killed on the stampade, there is an illustration of Berlin victory column, which was the inofficial landmark of loveparades in Berlin and the "quite pole" of the event. Nevertheless, it is an ambigitious symbol as it is not a monument of peace, but of war. The 21 victory columns are arranged in a cross. The text ( in German) and the cross is situated between two illustrations of Konstantynow Radio Mast, which was during its whole lifetime from 1974 to 1991 the tallest man-made structure on earth, surpassing every other man-made object in Europe by far. This mast is a symbol for

  • "invisible energy" as it was used by one of the most powerful transmitters in the world as antenna
  • Breaking boundaries
  • Gone greatness
