English: Greenhorn schoolteacher Alan Hickey runs afoul of violent woodsmen in "Readin', Writin' and Romance (Lovelorn number 54, page 24). From May to November 1954, AGC attempted to cash in on the 3D boom with format they dubbed "Truevision". Featuring solid color figures over screentone backgrounds, the system was advertised as "three dimensional effects without glasses". Based on visual techniques developed by EC's science-fiction titles over the previous four years, "Truevision" had limited success on the newsstand, being phased out by 1955 in favor of more conventional (and presumably cost effective) publications. |
