Description View of Lourdes from the Pic du Jer (950m). The town is a single hotel and gift shop strip. It is second to Paris in the number of hotels in France (it has approx. 270 in a town of about 15,000 inhabitants). As Lourdes is the most important pilgrimage place in France, all the pilgrims need to be housed - and every season (March to October) 5,000,000 can be accommodated according to Wikipedia.
