Description
English: Many buildings were closed and everyone was wearing masks because of the virus. I went there as there were certain buildings and places I needed for my book. - My Fortress Louisbourg album has many other pictures.

The Perelle Property - Jean-François Eurry de la Perelle (1691-1747) was town major in the 1740s. He commanded the military administration of the fortress. In 1745 his military duties included negotiating the surrender of of Louisbourg to the invaders of the first siege.

la Perelle’s house was built in 1725, and the storehouse was added in 1734. The timber was local, but the glass was imported from France and the board siding may have come from New England. Boston schoonermen sailed to Louisbourg to buy French West Indian rum and molasses, and the board siding they sold in exchange covered buildings in the town. Perelle’s storehouse housed prisoners of war in the summer of 1744.
