Description Lot 2290-9: Invasion of Guam, 21 July – 10 August 1944. Landing Vehicle Tracked (LVT), amphibious warfare vehicle. Image shows U.S. Marines lifting a wounded mate on board a “Water Buffalo” in Guam jungle for evacuation to the beach and transport to a base hospital. LTVTs were designed, engineered and built by Food Machinery Corporation Division at Lakeland, Florida; Los Angeles, San Jose, and Riverside, California. Photograph donated by Food Machinery in June 1945. (8/28/2015).
