Description Lot 11592-10: North African Campaign, German Activities, World War II. Facsimile reproduction of the third demand by Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, Commander of the German North Afrika Korps to General Marie-Pierre Koenig, Commander of the Fighting French garrison at Bir Hacheim, to surrender. Believed to be the first enemy document to reach Allied archives bearing Rommel’s signature, 1942. Original photograph from British Information Services, New York: FF-265.
